Dear Family,
Hello! My name is Miss. D’Alexander, and I am an Elementary Education major with a concentration in Special Education at the University of Delaware. I am so excited to be working at Wilbur Elementary with Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Stella and your student until November 19th. I am delighted to be able to get to know the children and learn more about them throughout this time. I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself.
As a senior at the University of Delaware, I have been given the opportunity to work in a variety of classrooms. My very first teaching experience last fall was in a fifth grade classroom at Pleasantville Elementary School. Last semester I was placed in a fourth grade classroom at Oberle Elementary School. I am excited to add this opportunity at Wilbur Elementary School to my list of experiences in classrooms prior to becoming a full-time educator. Besides my teaching experiences at the University, I have also worked as a Paraprofessional during winter and summer breaks for the past three years.
I have aspired to be a teacher since I was young. I enjoyed learning in school as well as helping my classmates in school whenever I could. As a student myself, I have always loved the subject of math which is a specific focus area in addition to special education. Along with assisting my classmates, I also enjoyed working with students younger than me after school with their homework. As I have matured, I still continue to want to work with children which is why I feel being a teacher is the best option for me. In the next twelve weeks, I am ready to learn from both the students as well as Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Stella in order to gain the most from this opportunity.
I am looking forward to the next few months and the time I will spend with your student as well as the opportunity to learn more about them! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Mrs. Johnson or Ms. Stella via email ([email protected] or [email protected]).
Sincerely,
Miss. D’Alexander
